Meet the Staff of Seniors First Home Care
Melissa Sprouse Browne, Founder
"I've always had a special place in my heart for seniors. When my sister and I were caring for our parents, we learned first-hand how hard it can be when you don't have any medical training or experience. Over the years, we used a variety of senior care service providers and quickly saw what a huge discrepancy there can be between caregivers and the quality of care. When we decided to start our own company, we immediately committed to providing high quality care through experienced, screened caregivers. It matters that we treat you and your parent like you're a part of our family. I would never tolerate anyone who doesn't give the highest level of commitment to his or her duties, and you can rest assured that your parent or loved one will be taken care of the right way, every day," said Melissa.
Melissa is an accomplished entrepreneur, with an ownership interest in the Real Estate School of South Carolina, The Marketing Division and South Carolina Realty. In 2009, she was chosen as one of the "20 Under 40" honorees by The State Newspaper. This honor is given to the top twenty business leaders in the Greater Columbia, SC area who are under 40 years of age and meet the criteria of excellence in business and are active in their communities.
She has authored The Caregiver's Training Program, a useful text for anyone who needs to know the basics of managing the care of an aging loved one. She has also written, Unit History: The 755th Field Artillery Battalion, a day by day account of the unit's movements during World War II from December 1944 through May 1945. She compiled this small bit of history as a gift for her father, Paul Sprouse. He was never one to boast of his accomplishments and Melissa wanted to know more about what he experienced during World War II. She created the book from her research and presented the finished copy to her father for Christmas in 2001. Her latest work is called My Best Friend is a Liar: The Real Life Story of a World Class Con Artist, which is a true crime story published in late 2014. It's the first in The Liar Series, with additional titles to come in 2016.
Melissa attended the University of South Carolina, where she studied Criminal Justice and Journalism. She is currently licensed as a Real Estate Broker and Instructor in the state of South Carolina. She is currently serving as chairman of the West Columbia Beautification Foundation. As part of her commitment to seniors, she participates regularly with the Senior Care Professionals of the Midlands. You may contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
